I bought mine about 18 weeks but got my cot about 14 weeks coz the one I wanted was on sale! Go for it hun, you'll regret it if you end up having to pay full price for it in a few weeks time!

were liking the phil and teds vibe cos like having the option of adding on other seats n its on offer now with the carrycot part..ill keep a close eye on it!
not cheap but loadsa people have told us that they spent 500 approx on a pushchair for 1st baby n then couldnt use it when they had a second babs so would be better in long term!

We picked ours out when i was around the 14-16 week mark and just put a deposit down on it. It was almost half price back then, and we loved it after test driving so many of them. Full price it would have been €1,300.00 (it is a travel system though) and we got it for €749.00 in Tony Kealys in Walkinstown. The good thing was that it neeeded to be ordered as the colour we picked was out of stock until the end of November/start of December, and they will hold it in the shop until the middle of March (am due the 1st of April). So i reckon if you see something you like and can put a deposit off it, then do. You will regret it otherwise.

We picked ours out when I was about 14wks gone Id say, like that it was great price. We put dep down and kept going in and paying off. Now the lady told us it could take up to six wks to order it in, so we went in in Dec to order it, due in March. She offered us her floor shop model at a further 10 - 15% off but we had to take it the next wkend, as she was ordering in a newer model she told us. We were thrilled extra bargain. Brought it on with us. Then two wks later we went up to order a mattress from them for our cot and she was closed down :o We were stunned, absolutely shocked :o
So Id just say be careful with putting dep down, we were lucky as we spent the money we had in the shop on the travel system but imagine if we hadn't!

I totally agree with Pebbles... if you are planning a second child within a year or two make sure you get a travel system that can be converted to a double just in case. Loads of my friends got caught out with this and ended up having to buy another system/buggy... we're all in our mid-late 30s so no one is putting off having a second child too long! I've gone for the Uppababy Vista which can be converted to a double with the addition of a 'rumble seat' for a toddler, as we hope to have a second baby within 18-24 months of our first. We waited to buy until I was about 34 weeks in the hopes that we would get an offer in Jan sales and we did - got the footmuff thrown in for free! I should mention that I'm currently living in London so prices are sterling... it was £550 altogether including bassinet, seat unit, rain covers and insect nets for both, car seat adaptors for maxi cosi and the free footmuff. The uppababy is v popular in the states and is beginning to take off in the UK, well worth a look... I researched the pram purchase for ages beforehand and we are really pleased with our choice :D Was between that or the icandy peach but in the end couldn't justify the expense of the icandy. Might be some good deals to be had now as they are about to launch the 2012 version, so maybe selling off some 2011s (not much difference between the two by the way).
