ouch!!! wisdom tooth and bonjela.

Postby Rathmineslady » Mon Feb 06, 2012 3:31 pm

Ladies, does anyone know whether it is safe to use Bonjela on a very sore gum and new wisdom tooth pushing through. The information leaflet says to consult your doctor advice regarding use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. My mouth is so damned sore and the pain is gone to my ear and down my throat. Please don't suggest gargling with salty water, that just makes me gag and even just thinking about doing that makes me gag.

Oh I'm not sure hun! I'd ask a chemist if I were you, they know more about what we're allowed during pregnancy that GPs seem to in all honesty! I know it probably won't help but try take two paracetamol for the pain until you know more! Hope it feels a bit better soon!

Thanks girls. My sister suggested biting down on a whole clove, which apparently numbs the area. Have paracetamol in my bag so am going to take a couple of them and hope it eases the pain. Bloody typical for this tooth to rear its ugly head when i'm pregnant, it's been there for so long but not moving and just decided to come down in the last week.

I've heard that clove thing works. Or biting down on a cotton bud soaked in whiskey - havent tried either but definitely worth a shot! Ya poor thing, hope it starts to get a bit better xxx

The cloves are working for now, absolutely disgusting and make me gag, but it's a relief. I now smell like an old lady who has been sucking on clove drops.

U can get clove oil from the chemist and put it on ur gums, doesn't taste great but worked for when my wisdom teeth were flaring up!
