Hi all I had been looking at the babydan playpen but somebody suggested a travel cot instead. I like the idea now of that as its so versatile etc and we'd get the use out of it. Have any of you got one or would you recommend them? I ran into mothercare today and briefly looked at them, they had just a basic one starting from 40e is there anything specific I need to look for in them?

We were given the Winnie the Pooh one from Argos as a gift so didn't really have much of a say. But that being said its a nice travel cot and I do think they're handier than a playpen, at least until babs in that bit bigger. Some of them have a bassinette in them which I like the idea of but we have the moses basket which will do the same job and then once babs outgrows the moses basket we'll use the travel cot. Some of them have two wheels on one end (ours doesn't I don't think!) which allow for it to be pulled from room to room if need be while babs is sleeping but again this is just a personal preference.

We were given a graco one as a gift! I really didnt think we would need one, but after speaking to my friends they are very handy since we have a house dog too! Easy to put baby in there to play, out of dogs way which means you can get on with the housework or whatever needs doing!

Travel cots are ok when baby is small I have a graco one for dd atm but once she starts wanting tomove around I will put up the babydan play pen it's much more sturdy and bigger than a travel cot for when they get bigger. IMO a travel cot is a bit small for when they are bigger and also not as sturdy. I would highly recommend the babydan play pen I have it since ds1 was born and it has been worth every Penney, once baby starts to move they can pull them selfs up by the bars and walk around it. It can also be used as a room divider. Its def one if my best baby buys. I also got the tent for it and the boys we it as a den and ball pool.
DS1 is 9
DS2 is 5
