Hi girlies.

Cant believe I am typing this- i just got a bfp!!! we got married this summer, stopped talking the pill in september after 5 years and we werent really trying until this month. Cant believe this happened so quick for us- i have been totally stalking this site for the past 2 months, and know how hard it is for some girls here. feel so blessed.havent even told dh, wont be home from work til later and dont want to say it over the phone.used a clear blue and it said 3+, but I think im about 5 weeks!!

Thanks girls!!havent a clue what to do next- prob make a doctors appointment? how do they confirm it? is it just another pregnancy test?

Yea just call your Docs surgery & tell them you need to confirm a pregnancy....usually they will just do another test, you BP, weight, maybe your bloods & get you into the system for your maternity care! Where in Ireland are you based? If you are in Dublin you need to be thinking about which hospital you want to attend!

GP will do pregnancy test and tell EDD based on your last period also will give you list of hospitals so you can pick one and then you contact that hospital and fill out registration form your firs app will prob be around 14 weeks if you never had any history of complications etc. On your first app you'll get to answer million questions about your health and family history, bloods taken and also first scan!!!

congrats! such fabulous news!
i came off pill at end of july, got pregnant at end of oct. feel very blessed too.
go to ur doc as soon as u can, he might not do a test if ur sure yourself, mine didnt, i filled out the hospital forms there and then! The hospital will send u out a little white card for all ur info and then later theyll send u out an appointment for a booking appointment and a scan, mine is at 19 weeks. doctor told me to come back at about 14 weeks to hear heartbeat! im back with him again at 18 weeks and then scan!
u get ur blood pressure, weight and a urine sample at each appointment!
its the start of such an exciting journey for u! nervewracking at times but so worth it. when u hear ur little babas heartbeat an then see him/her on scan its just amazing. best feeling ever!
