PND-Post natal depression

Postby MammyT » Sun Sep 19, 2010 3:40 pm

:sorry I know it's not a happy topic but I have/am suffering from pnd and I think it would be great for other mothers to be able to ask questions or speak about it freely and not feel bad about it.

If there's not a section for it what section (which already is up) would it fall into

Much respect to MammyT for bringing this subject up, as it seems to still be a bit of a taboo subject, even in this day and age. :hug
It most definitely should not be. There needs to be somewhere for everyone affected to talk about their feelings and what they are going through, and also so other new mums can go for advice and support from people who have been through it.
Perhaps in the 'Pregnancy' part of the forum, we could have a 'Pregnancy Health' section where we can add threads concerning health problems that are associated with pregnancy? In a health section we could discuss anything from bad heartburn, to pelvic girdle pain, to depression. At least we come on here then and say 'these are the problems i'm having, can anybody give me some advice'.

Thanks mumybear :hug
A pregnancy health section would be great, couldn't think of a name at the time :D
I know sometimes it's hard for people to speak about stuff cos after you have a baby everything is mean't to be great and all rosy but thats not the case for everyone

It would be great to have a section that people can talk openly about any topics like that

Great idea Mammy T...I know its hard for people to talk about but it is really important that they do!!
I agree with it being a members only section too as its a hard thing to be open about & people need to know they can talk here & it wont go anywhere or be seen by people they dont want to see it
