Subscribing topics

Postby MrsEL10 » Fri Sep 17, 2010 2:07 pm

When you reply to a topic I think it should automatically subscribe to the topic like on mrs2be so you get notifications of a reply to it - and then unsubscribe it

No, I don't think it's just you, I think it's just me who finds it really annoying to get all those mails to begin with, usually I'm pretty up to date about the threads I posted in, so I look it up myself. I think most prefer to get the mails though haha

I wouldn't want it either! Sorry girls but some topics can be far more popular and get a lot of replies and i get bombarded with messages!

I have to say I rather get the emails so I know when people have replied....means I can check in on forum!

I have to agree with mommy2be and bloem here! All the messages are a bit much sometimes. Maybe have it set so that people can choose to subscribe, rather than people having to unsubscribe all the time? So, like the default would be that nobody is subscribing, If that makes sense?

I wouldn't like them either, they annoy me sorry. I agree with mummybear about having the option to have them or not.

I agree, I wouldn't want my e-mail inbox overloaded with notifications. It's handy to have the option

This is a personal thing - we decided when setting up mum2be to keep the default for reply notifications OFF.

However, you can change your own default setting here:

This link should work if you are logged in:
ucp.php?i=prefs&mode=post

Click yes or no to the option that says "Notify me upon replies by default".
