Anyone tried Soya Isolflavones?
Just been reading a little on Soya to help regulate Ovulation and bring it forward and be more prominent when releasing the egg, just wondered has anyone tried it?

Haven't heard of it before. Some of the girls on here recommended Agnus Castus or something, they both got their bfp's the same month. I think it was MarcsMrs and I can't for the life of me remember the other username. Damn my crap memory!

Re: Anyone tried Soya Isolflavones?
I have just tried to get hold of soya isolflavones but I can't get it in low enough dose in one capsule... so may try the agnus cactus... is there a thread on it? I am willing to try things, because I don't think I am ovulating... Thanks girls

I don't know if the thread was specifically about agnus castus, why don't you put up a new post with that in it and the girls will probably respond to it? Have you been getting your AF redaspen? Usually if you are, it means you are OV. Why do u think you're not OV'ing?

Re: Anyone tried Soya Isolflavones?
Ah right, yeah I had a look through the threads and did a bit of research. I don't think Agnus cactus would be suitable for me... Yeah been fairley regular since coming off the pill, but sorry I should have rephrased that, I have probably been ovulating, but I don't think it has been a strong ovulation. I'd say it is fairly weak. My temps take a while to spike which suggests I have had a poor/weak ovulation. The soya isoflavones is meant to help the ovulation be stronger, but think it is controversial... I'll let you know if I can get hold of any

Oh right, I didn't know that. That's very interesting. I hope it's not controversial as in dangerous?!

Re: Anyone tried Soya Isolflavones?
From what I have read it is controversial, because it can mess up a regular cycle... as in bring ovulation forward a couple of days. I don't think it is dangerous as it is herbal, but yeah can just mess up cycles. There was a load of research done by fertility friend on it. I am going to continue to read as I am not convinced yet... hehe

Re: Anyone tried Soya Isolflavones?
So, the research basically says that it can shorten your cycle, which will make you O more often?? You have a pretty regular cycle though, don't you? Your AF came back pretty much straight away after the pill, if I remember correctly?! You are definitely getting your 12 chances a year anyway, which is pretty good by anyone's standards. Also, I read that a gluten free diet helps increase the quality of the egg as well. Mind you, how reliable is the internet for information?
Anyway, if you do decide to start taking it, make sure you're sure it's worth it.
for ya xx Have you thought about acupuncture? That's meant to help too. I might go for that myself if nothing happens in the next 6 months.-

Re: Anyone tried Soya Isolflavones?
thanks Torrach for the gluten diet advice. Yeah my cycles have been pretty much 27 days with a 31 day one in there... but yeah can't complain really. I was just interested in the research done that it can strengthen the egg. Anyway after speaking with hubby, we have decided just to keep going as normal and see what happens and hopefully I get a strong ovulation this month. He has on a different shift from tomorrow, so hoping that'll make a difference. Before we hadn't been able to DTD after ovulation, as due to our shifts clashing, so hoping we can time it better and therefore have a good chance hehe
and hoping you have a shorter cycle this month and AF comes sooner

Brilliant stuff Redaspen!! Yeah, I think you are right just to go ahead as you are. It can be dodgy taking supplements. Before the doc gave me the thyroid tablets, I was taking kelp cos they have iodine in them but he told me I shouldn't do that as it can actually cause thyroid problems. The hairdresser told me to take them before my wedding as he said it was great for hair. (note to self: do not take supplement/medical advice off hairdressers!!)
to you and hubby.
to you and hubby.-
