It monitors your cycle for the whole month and stores your information, you have to set it in the first five days of your cycle and then for the first cycle you have to start testing from day 6, it will tell you when you have high fertility days, and peak fertility days from your first morning urine, you use 10 or 20 sticks depending on the length or regularity of your cycle, you have to test until it detects your peak fertility. Once you have used it for one cycle it will have more of an idea when you are fertile so might not have to start testing from as early in the cycle

Yeah, I hope so too! We should be given phDs MrsEL for all the studying and testing we've been doing. Have you started using your CBFM yet? Can't wait to hear how you get on to see if you'd recommend it or not.

All i've done so far is set it and turn it on every morning, it'll tell you when you need to test, i think i'll have to do my first test in the morning and keep testing until it detects peak fertility. Kind of nervous but excited about using it

Yeah, it actually sounds really cool, I'd be excited too! And, what do you do? Pee on stick and it analyses them?

Yeah, I had to do my first test this morning. In the first five days of your cycle you have set the testing window. You have to test with your fmu (first morning urine) so you have to set it for a time that suits you, but you have six hours of a testing window. Like i set it at 9am and i can test between 6am and noon. So you turn it on between those times every morning before you go to the bathroom and if you need to test it will show a test symbol. The instructions are very good with it. So you pee on a stick and then put the cap on and put the stick into the monitor and it will read it for five minutes, then it will show a symbol to take out the test stick and it will show your fertility level. At the minute my fertility is low which is not surprising this early in my cycle. Once it gets used to my cycles it won't request a test so early. You have to keep testing every morning when it shows on it that it requires a test. Have to keep testing until it detects peak fertility. There are three levels of fertility - low, high and peak. The opks i think just show peak fertility but this will also show days of high fertility. Peak is the highest level but there is still a chance you can get pg on days of high fertility so it gives extra days

My god the whole thing is so complicated isn't it! I have an app on my iphone that tells me i am fertile between the 19th and 29th January and that I would start ovulating on the 25th January so we DTD 3 times last week but haven't done anything since Friday night cuz hubby had a knee operation so isn't in any shape to be making shapes with me!!!! That's probably us out for February now. How long do you ovulate for? I am trying to learn this stuff!!!

There is generally two days that you are most fertile for every month, i have the app too but haven't been using it for long, and i thought the cbfm would be better able to tell me my days that i'm most fertile

If you are testing with opks you will generally get two days i think, but with the cbfm it gives you days of high fertility aswell as peak fertility which you also have a chance of conceiving on. I'll let you know when i've done one cycle how many days of high and peak fertility i had :)

i got it on inhealth website, it was 99 but they have promotion codes every month so i got 10% off. You might be lucky and get one cheap on ebay. I didn't want to wait as i wanted to use it this cycle once i decided to get one and inhealth delivered next day. The cb stands for clear blue, just quicker to type. You have to buy the test sticks separately

That contraption sounds deadly!! I love how high tech it is!! Hope it works out for you. I have been looking at charts on fertilityfriend.com and many women OV on the day they get their OPK and the day after also. Best to do it the day you get it and following two nights if you can.
