OPK's Vs. Fertility Friend

Postby broodychick » Tue Nov 22, 2011 9:28 pm

Hi ladies,
Is anyone using fertility friend and opk's together? I have a bit of a dilemma- really felt like we had done everything 'right' and well-timed this month!
Have a very regular 28 day cycle-usually ovulate day 15ish. Was due to ovulate on monday (CD15). Was doing opk's twice a day from CD11-all negative until I got a positive on saturday (CD14) and sunday(CD15) so we were at it like rabbits Sat, Sun, Mon!

Then, Fertility friends coverline appeared on my chart this morning and had ovulation day as last Friday (CD12) :hissyfit
Did we miss the boat? Which do I take as most accurate- the positive opk or Fertility friend oulation day?

Also started to take Angus Castus this month-heard its great for fertility alright but I'm mainly using it for PMS (I get so down and anxious) But, apparently it can lengthen the luteal phase but i dont think mine needs lengthening-I really hope it hasn't made me ovulate 2/3 days earlier than usual this month coz surely that's not good?

I'm not too sure hun! We used OPKs but used them completely wrong. We DTD on CD11, CD12, CD17, CD19 and CD20 of what would normally be a 31/32 day cycle. I got the positive OPKs on CD18 - 20 but according to my scan dates (and the consultant) we would have concieved around CD14 which means that the swimmers from DTD on days 11 and 12 were the ones that caught the egg not from later in my cycle like the OPKs made me think! Might just be my body though. I hadn't used OPKs before as I can usually feel it when I ovulate and I honestly didn't think I had ovulated until CD18 ish but guess I was wrong. Dunno if this helps you at all but just said I'd tell you my own experience. Honestly there's no way of knowing now if you've missed the egg but then again its the times when we think we've missed it that end up giving us BFPs! Best of luck this month broodychick!

I used them both together and something similar happened. It looked like I hadnt ovulated till CD18, then when I got to CD22 it turns out I ovulated on CD15, FF was right though, I conceived on . My sex drive went through the roof after coming off the pill so we DTD everyday (at least once). You'll just have to wait and see hun, most people say that it takes about 2 cycles to figure out whats happening, and really getting to know your body. Are you recording your cm as well? That was a huge tell tale sign for me and to be honest I never even noticed it before TTC. As long as your taking your temp at the same time daily and before you move around too much in bed I'd go with FF. Hth

hi girls, thank you for ur replies, and congrats to you both!
Fertility Friend changed my coverline this morning to show I ovulated on Day 14 (Sunday) which was as I thought- and not on Day12 (Fri) which was the original coverline.
I'm delighted coz we DTD sat/sun/mon so good timing I hope!!! Fingers crossed!
