Hi girlies,

just wondering...do any of you get OV pain? I have been having stabby feelings in my right side and it kind of alternates then with AF feeling cramps but it literally is only in one side. I'm on cd12, had the stabby feelings yesterday as well.

I don't really have much experience with my own 'real' AFs cos I was 10 years on the pill and had no AFs from about 15 to 16yrs of age cos my body weight was too low, and then when I did have them they only ever had one thing in common - they were usually over 35 days. And now with my thyroid being put into action with new tablets, I'm totally inexperienced with all this OV and fertility charting stuff.

Although my OPKs are neg, I have been using FMU cos I can't really do it mid morning or in the afternoon, it just wouldn't be suitable where I work. Anyway, so, was just interested in hearing from you missies who have OV pain what it is actually like? Does it feel stabby or like AF? Cos if it doesn't, then I don't know what the feck is going on with my right side!!

I always could feel when I was ovulating. I'd get a kinda stabby pain in one side or the other around when I was ovulating. It would have been similar to AF cramping but less of an ache iykwim!

Hi, when I was ovulating, it was a sharp stabbing pain in either my left or right side - it was a very different sensation to AF pain. I also felt slightly nauseous and dizzy, but it was very mild and nothing to complain about! Hope you have lots of luck with the baby making

Cool, thanks for the feedback, I've never experienced pain like that. It'd feel like stabby, stabby, stabby and then maybe later it'd feel soreish in the area, but I had the stabby feelings yesterday as well. Would you girls ever get OV pain two days in a row?

I usually have them for a day or two alright. Before I knew what they were I called them pinchy flashy pains

Pinchy! Yeah RocTheBaby - thats exactly how I'd describe them!! And yeah I'd get them for about two, sometimes three days. The area was never tender to the touch though Torrach, is your left side tender after you've had the pains?

Sounds like ov pains to me hun, well i've never used opks but i tend to get pains like that the middle of my cycle so i'm guessing that is what it is, i didn't get it for the two months my AFs were messed up but back again this month and last month.

Glad to hear those 'pinchy' pains are back for you MrsEl!

The area isn't tender at all, I'm just not describing it very well! It's a little achy I suppose, but not as bad as AF, and it is completely to one side, and it is not constant. I wonder if it is OV pain, I suppose if my AF comes in around 16 - 18 days then I'll presume that's what it is. I don't know if I ever got them before and just thought it was nothing. I never conciously had these 'stabby', I'd call them, pains. It's all new to me so thanks for the input girls! I'm only back from dropping more stuff at the new house so I doubt I'll be making use of my OV time this month , if that's what it is, cos we are just too wrecked! Aw well!

Well keep us posted hun. Might well be ov pains!! And even if ye are too tired for DTD this cycle its fine cause yer still figuring out yer body's rhythm

As bm3 said use this time to try and work out your body, see when AF comes, and then if you get them next month you will know what they are

Yeah, that's my plan!! Only time will tell me for sure what they are. Had the pain this morning again early on, but nothing since. Thanks for all your help ladies xx

i used to get the pinchy stabby pains too and id be a contrary biatch! also my nipples would go crazy maybe the day after!

i would get slight pains in my side before ov.. I could get it for 10mins, then it could disappear and feel it again later in the day.. Never passed much remarks on any of this until i used opks..
