Hi all, I am clearly new here not sure what to say
Hi all,
This is my first ever post so am very unsure what to say
, I have been reading all your posts for awhile waiting for the magical right time which i see don't exist. I know now I am deffo ready to tcc. i have been married for a year and a half now and would love to start tcc soon. I came off the pill briefly about 6/7 months ago but then lost my job and went back on it. I have a new job now almost 5 months and would love some opinion on how long do you think you should be in a new job before tcc.
Any advice would be fantastic, Thanks

Welcome hunni, hope you enjoy this site as much as I do
as for your question well I'm was only inmy job a year when I found out I was pregnant but my boss was grand taking the news, she was more worried about who was gona cover me! You should try Suss out how your boss reacts to pregnancys first and see from there! But I wouldnt put my life on hold just to make your boss happy.

Yeah, I agree with babyL, you can't put your life on hold for the sake of your boss. Are you a member of a union Dora? If not, you may want to join one then ring and ask them how long you have to be in a job before you are entitled to maternity benefits. You could also browse union websites (one that caters for people in your line of work) and see what they say.
Oh, and welcome!! Happy ttc-ing!!

Re: Hi all, I am clearly new here not sure what to say
Thanks girls for the welcome and reply,
The company I work for is fairly small family business and a lil clickly most of the staff are there over 12 years or are related to the boss so its a bit hard to sus out bosses reaction but I have still been trying a lil bit. I know I shouldn't let a job determine my future but I have a habit of over thinking things just a tad! I was thinking if I was in the job a year it would be ok to get pregnant, so I was thinking maybe when I'm in the job 9 months the TCC could commence. This site has thought me a lot how ever, I've always just taken for granted that I could plan to a tea when I wanted to fall pregnant and even what month I'd like to have a baby but hey I see all the planning in the world may not work in this suitation.
I would love a crystal ball to see how long TCC will take me, but I think I'll just have to chillout and see what happen on this one.
I am also going to do a lot of research on the whole employee rights side of thing just to be on the safe side. Oh plus waiting another 4months to TCC also gives me time to lose 2 stone and get fitter before we start trying, No pressure!

Re: Hi all, I am clearly new here not sure what to say
Haha, yeah, I know what you mean. Eery month when I don't get AF or a BFP, I just try and think of thepositives...more time to get my body in shape, and other things work-related. I'd say a year is fair enough and starting to ttc at 9 months would be grand. You never know how long it's going to take, so many people get pregnant first time or after a few months and then there are others, who have nothing wrong with them physically who just can't seem to catch a break. I just say to myself, God'll send me a baby when I'm ready! I'm not a massive holy Joe or anything but that's what I do believe though!

Thanks for all the advice it sure does help make things a bit clearer and into perspective. Just have to be patient now til I can start TCC, which is hard because its all i can think of at the mo, but as you rightly said I'll be sent a baby when i'm ready.
