Hey clairee I hadn't a clue at first I'm still learning I only started about a week ago. my lo was bottlefed but same concept. I used Annabel karmels book for recipes but basically I started him after his second feed so about 10.30.(this was my preference) I started him on baby rice it's 1spoon to 10 spoons of formula milk ( I dunno if you can mix is with anything else you probably can but unsure ) I give Finn his bottle first as I don't want him to stop taking his bottle. I started with a spoon or two just went at his pace. I've introduced a new taste every 3 days. So he's had baby rice. Sunshine orange. Butternut squash and Apple. I also have sweet potato, turnip, carrot and pear made up. Finn is only on 1 meal a day I will build him up to 2 and 3 in the coming weeks.

I would bypass the babyrice and just start with fruit or sweet potato. We gave DD babyrice for a couple of days and she hated it and I have to say it is rank stuff altogether.

Think the book is the baby and toddler meal planner.

Yeah that's the name of it.

I personally liked the baby rice (not the taste) but it gave me an idea of how thick or runny his food could be as I hadn't a clue. Because its made with his milk he lapped it up and got use to taking it. Although my little man would eat anything he demolishs his food.

It's all personal preference and what works for your baby.

hi ladies, 1st time mammy to a 5 1/2 month old and wondering how to cut down on bottles. she has 5 bottles of 7 oz a day and have started the last 2 weeks introducing solids. she has a variety of baby rice carrot and baby custard twice a day but not sure when to step up the amount she is eating. she started today using her cup so having a bit of water with each meal. she has a few spoonfuls of either carrot or baby rice each day but not sure when she will have a full meal of it. i know the bottles are the most important thing for her to have
