Due March 2018

Postby Excited2018 » Sun Jul 02, 2017 9:38 pm

Am a first time newbie and would love some help and info sharing. Am going to the gp next week and am 5 weeks today. What are people's recommendations on Semi-private versus private in holles street and which consultants are good. Sorry about all the questions

Hey girls, I'm going to hop on here. Excited 2018 i think we're due the same day. I'Il be 6 weeks this coming Sunday. Haven't been to doc yet as I'm holidays and only found out day before I travelled. This is #3 for me. Still in shock to be honest.

I can't give give advice re the private versus semi in your hospital. I decided to go public on both my other two The only thing I would say is don't dismiss the idea of going public. On #1 I was in and out of hospital on a number of occasions and on #2 I had complications in Labour, ended up having a consultant and both times I received exactly the same care as a private patient and didn't pay anything for it. Even though I had complications on #2 I'm still going to go public on #3. The other thing is you could pay for a public /semi private bed and not be guaranteed it.

If your anything like me you'll be 8 months pregnant and it still won't have sunk in. You can ring up the hospital of your choice now and make your booking appointment which they'll book in for you around 12-14 weeks. Is it your first?

I tried to reply to this yesterday and for some reason if wouldn't submit. Some hospitals don't request the gp letter to make your booking appointment. I'd ring your hospital, make your appointment and then ring gp. You don't have to go to the gp (personal preference) but you do need to notify them so they can fill out the paper work. Some docs don't charge you for this appointment.

I got my bfp 2 weeks ago, booked my booking appointment and still haven't been to the doc as I'm on hols but will go when I'm back
