Looking for reassurance!

Postby Newmamtobe1989 » Thu Jan 10, 2019 10:36 pm

Hi, it’s my first pregnancy so I really don’t know what to expect!! But I’m kind of panicking a little bit as I’m 7 weeks pregnant and have absolutely no symptoms of pregnancy at all! I guess I’m a little tired but nothing unbearable. Is anyone else in a similar situation or have been through this?!

I was like this, had little to no symptoms right up until week 12! Had a scan at 8 weeks and saw heartbeat, but was still paranoid that something was wrong right up until the 14 week scan this week anyway. It's unsettling feeling grand when you expect to feel poorly! Fingers crossed all is grand and you're one of the lucky, morning-sickness free mums-to-be! x

Awh thank you so much for your response!! That really is reassuring to hear. Can you request a scan earlier that the usual 12 scan? I suppose just to feel settled really! X

For the 8 week scan, I paid for it myself (with a discount from my health insurance). I was going away and wanted to be sure it was all looking ok before I traveled. I went to babyscan in Swords and it cost 85 euro. Honestly, I was still worried afterwards anyway, as I was still waiting on symptoms that never came!!

I've had 2 babies and never had many pregnancy symptoms at all and no nausea or sickness. When I consulted my Dr. her response was.... "count yourself lucky" Everything went very smoothly with no complications. Best of luck!

Couldn't read and run - I was the same until week 9 and then had about 3 weeks of nausea! Had no symptoms beyond tiredness and my poor boobs were in bits but no sickness at all before the 9 weeks. Had a scan at 8 weeks privately and was well worth the money for the peace of mind. Im 18 weeks now and still anxious most of the time but my rapidly expanding middle is reassuring me! You could be lucky and not suffer sickness I know an awful lot of women who don't. Best of luck x

Thanks so much ladies! ☺️ Your response really helps! I’ve booked an appointment with my doctor and I’m going to go for an early scan anyway just to put my mind at ease! I really am hoping that I’m one of the lucky ones!! X
