See that's the thing shoe I was induced last time as I got no pains after waters broke so the only frame of reference I have is the pains during induction I've never had these early niggly ones, which is why I'm doubting myself!!

Well they are still there & if I move/sit/stand they don't ease. My only worry is that it's 75% lower back, 25% round the front, not sure if I should be feeling them more in front?

Thanks sunshine - they are roughly 10 mins apart sometimes less sometimes a little more since 2pm
I guess I just don't want to get excited in case they ease but the last one (16.45) lasted a good 30 secs & I couldn't do anything during it except take deep breaths

Thanks girls. I think what's also throwing me off is the fact I feel fine in between - and then I get bad ones & think ok it's defo something and then the next one is milder & I wonder if I'm right!

That sounds so positive Honey! My ante natal class said if paracetamol and a hot bath don't take it away then its labour!
Keep us in the loop!!

I'm starting to think so too. The pain starts in my lower back, and it mounts and builds & feels like someone's fist is on my spine twisting & then I feel the tightness in my sides & then just about feel it under the bump/above pubic bone area. They are very irregular though, but haven't been 'pain free' for longer than 12 mins since 2pm

Wow that does sound really positive. My mum and best friend told me they both back laboured. No real front pain, all in their backs so this might be it!!!

I went whole day with back pain and slight cramps walking around a shopping centre and going for lunch. Still had it when I came home. Went to bed that night and waters went, it was all pretty quick from then. The fact you're getting pains that you can't move or talk through id definitely say yes you are. That's how I was after I got to hospital. Is your OH home?

I'd give them ring honey especially as it's your second.
I genuinely didn't think I was in labour until I was hooked up to monitor. I only went in cos waters broke & there was meconium in them.
I had back pain & pain really low down that was it.

Same as miniegg I only went in cos my waters broke. Things progressed very quick for me and it was my first so the fact its your 2nd id ring and see if you can go in

I had similar to what you're having now honeybee. Awful pains in my lower back and moving around to the front but always worse in my back. We were back to back though so I think that's why I had the pain mostly in my back.
I was fine in between also until things really got going.
I'd take my time going anywhere, do as much as you can at home but maybe ring the hospital for that bit of reassurance. Best of luck.
