I think we've to avoid anything unpasteurised plusone, it's to prevent you getting very ill and it affecting the pregnancy as far as I know but I don't have a clue otherwise.
A lot of the guidelines are outdated now but the nhs site seems to be quite good, did you have a look at that?

I personally don't stick rigidly to the guidelines and I didn't on my last pregnancy either and we had no issues. I have avoided unpasteurised cheese though & only eat shellfish etc out of a reputable restaurant or shop.
Would it be worth discussing with your gp?

Yeah I struggle with that one too as I love sushi, shellfish and oysters and like that you read it's ok occasionally on some sites and never on other's! Definitely the liver is a no go anyway I think.
Not that I get to eat decent sushi etc too often anyway ;-)
