Hope your feeling ok now Emillylou? I carried on taking the iron tablets afterwards to help with the blood loss and tiredness.
How's all the babies doing? Freya is a month now can't believe it. Christmas is going to be very special for us all, but very different too! I haven't enjoyed the last few as it's such a time for family and when you haven't got one it can be hard. So will be raising a small glass of wine to us all this year and our wonderful miracles xxx x

That's great hes sleeping so well..it makes such a difference for us doesnt it! Freya sleeps 5/6 hrs most night but occasionally has done 7/8. Shame I keep waking up wondering why she isn't awake :) 12 lbs is great too, freya is 8 now but considering she was 4.11 I'm happy. So lovely to see them smile and interact more now isn't it. Had the contraception chat with the gp and I'm not going to bother. Maybe I'm crazy but if it happened naturally I'd be delighted!

That's what I'm hoping aswell....my consultant was very clear that it can happen!
It's such a fright initially when they sleep that long....have you done the poking them to check they are breathing when they go quiet yet :)
Went to a mum and baby group last week and really enjoyed it. Was terrifying going in tho!

Ladies I know ye dont check in very much but ye may at some point! Hope all is going fab with the new arrivals!

Im just wondering what way ye are with regards family/friends/visitors holding/kissing baby...iv come across so many stories lately of babies getting really sick from people with a coldsore (even one only brewing so not visible) touching baby without washing their hands or kissing them. Did ye ask people to wash their hands or not kiss baby or do people know that already. Or am I completely ovethinking things?!

Hi Sarah, I wasn't on this train, but had baby last summer. We forbade anyone to kiss our baby (we even avoided kisses ourselves for the first few weeks), and made children wash hands. Must adults washed their hands anyway, and noone took offence to the "no kissing" instructions. Like you say, you read about the danger of coldsores now that you're reading up about babies, but it just doesn't seem to be common knowledge yet. Best of luck with your bundle of joy!!

I'm throwing my tuppence worth in here too! You're not overthinking it, it's a valid thing to worry about and even if we tell you not to you can't help worrying anyways. I agree with girls, most people have the cop on to wash hands etc or if kissing baby they would kiss the top of his head. Which still annoyed me lol, cos I hardly kissed him myself. The most difficult thing was his young cousins who just insisted on kissing him on the mouth. I couldn't help myself and just said straight out NO kissing him on the mouth and explained that he was too small and might get sick. My sister was kinda looking at me and I just said look we waited long enough for him so I'd rather be over cautious thanks!!!

Hi Sarah, not on this thread either - my son was born in June and like that I was paranoid about people kissing him. I’ve one aunt who went to take him from my arms without washing her hands (I had seen her petting the neighbours dog on the way in!!) and I actually shrank away from her and made her sanitise her hands after washing them. She then kissed him on the mouth and I couldn’t help myself I said oh no please don’t. She still thinks I’m nuts but I’m not a bit sorry. Your baby, your home, your choice! Leave bottles of sanitizer everywhere and feck them!

Thanks Mrsms2017! Fair play to you for saying it! You are so right aswell...ill definitely be leaving the hand sanitiser out and ask people to use it! Yikes theres always something to be thinking about or worrying about!!

Girls glad I'm not the only one worrying about this stuff! A friend of mine little boy kissed freya on the lips before I could stop him, and I grabbed a wet wipe and practically scrubbed her mouth. Luckily no one else has tried it.
The same child was in contact with someone with chicken pox and my friend casually threw that in the other day, terrified she will get it now, I know they have to get these illnesses but I think 14 weeks is too small for chicken pox! God the panic I'd be in.

Oh dotty can't believe Freya is 14 weeks! How are you both getting on? Is she amazing? Gorgeous? Driving you mad at times? I hope you escape chicken pox this early...I'd be in a panic too! Fingers crossed she still has enough protection from you!
As for the kissing and cold sore thing Sarah...I'd say the coronavirus is going to give you the perfect excuse to keep them all backed away from babs when he comes! I know I'm making light of it a bit but tbh that's my way of not panicking!!
