Let me know how the scan goes xxx

Great that your oh should be home cherry. My scan went grand today must go back in 2 and a half weeks because she couldn’t get a proper look at the heart and spine, she said it’s because baby is breech. Baby is measuring about 1 week behind but that’s fine she said, about 14oz.

I think they rescan quite a lot of people.
I’m getting incredibly nervous about my scan. Watched the rotunda programme last night which didn’t help. I had never seen it before. I ended up roaring crying!

I had to have the rescan in my last pregnancy as well, I usually love those programmes but I’ve never watched them while pregnant I would most definitely be bawling too. I have a clinic appointment on Monday now as well. Have you told your other kids yet about the baby?

They know and now and again they blow raspberries in my stomach to make the baby laugh or give me some books for the baby!

Ah that’s so cute. I haven’t told my 2 yet. I know the 6 year old would want to be counting down sleeps and would drive both herself and me cracked with it. But I can’t wait to tell them at the same time!

I told mine way way too early. Four year old is convinced he is getting the baby for Christmas no matter what I tell him!

Just rang to confirm time and it’s at 12:30 not 15:30. The ultrasound finishes at 1pm. I would have cried!

Super nervous! Thanks for remembering me xxx

Girls could I join ye? Not due until 1st March so hopefully I qualify! Great to see some names on this thread from previous ones. MrsBB, I'm so thrilled for you!

Cherry hope you're big scan went well. I have mine this day week and nervous too but felt a kick for the first time yesterday so feeling a bit relieved. Not that that means anything I know. My husband thinks that because we did the panorama test that there is no way anything could ever go wrong. Oh to be as positive as a man!

Hi Flipper! So excited to see your second pregnancy. Amazing for you.

All went grand at the scan today. I’d never been so nervous before. I think I have all these flashbacks to last years scans when it was all bad news. I’ve become an awful sceptic.

Great news about the movements flipper. It gets a little bit easier when you feel that. Most of the second trimester you are wondering whether you are pregnant at all!

Good luck with your scan Flipper. Great to have the Panorama in the bag too xx

Yes! All worked out perfectly. I’m so happy he is home now. I’ve been really starting to struggle. I wake up at night for hours and get so sleepy in the afternoon. Think my body is training me for the night feeds already!

Hi girls. I didn’t get the all clear at the scan. Baby is measuring 2.5/3 weeks behind. All 4 previous scans were bang on dates so something has happened/is happening. We were brought straight from scan to see our consultant and he’s concerned.

He said worst case scenario is that she fails to thrive and doesn’t survive. Best case is that she is delivered early but not too early, maybe 36/37 weeks and is very small, like 4 or 5lbs.

We are still in shock, we could not believe what the best case scenario was. He said that he thinks something in between will happen and he spoke about 28 weeks being best for viability (90%). 32 weeks was mentioned as well. It’s all whirring around in my head. I am back on 31st (my sons first birthday) for scan and I don’t know how I am meant to get to that date without mind altering drugs and alcohol.

I went into work yesterday, bawled my eyes out in front of a load of people and then left. Didn’t go in today. He also spoke about IUGR, interuterine growth restriction. Anyone know anything about this? I am terrified to go too deep into google on it.

Her heartbeat is strong and she is perfectly formed but she is just so small.

Choromosomal issues were also spoken about and an amniocentesis but not yet. We had the panorama test and all was clear. He thinks a placenta issue is most likely.

Can’t believe this is happening to us. Felt like we deserved a break.

Sorry to be such a Debbie downer

Oh flipper, I don’t know anything about iugr so I’m not much help with that, but hoping that her good strong heartbeat will get her to at least 28 weeks and even further. I will have everything crossed for ye and willing everything to be ok.

Had to pop on flipper and say I'm so sorry your going through this. I can't imagine the stress and upset your going through. After everything you have been through you really don't deserve this. Thinking of you and everything crossed for a positive outcome xx

Oh Flipper I cant believe you are faced with this. So gutted for you...its horrrible to have to wait for the next scan etc. I came across a couple of things about the inuterine growth restriction with lots of positive stories. Perfect babies that thrive but just a bit small. My son was born at 29.5 weeks - never given a definite reason why but possibly something about a torn placenta - so many years ago now! But he was in hospital for 7 wks but he thrived. My friend gave birth a 4 yrs ago at 26 wks and he's flying it.
So hard to take all this in now but there is most definitely reason to stay positive. But of course so hard when you are faced with this xxx
