Best fertility clinic

Postby Newlywed » Fri Sep 04, 2015 12:09 pm

Hi ladies

Long time no talk x it's been awhile since I've been on! We just took a break from the whole ttc thing, it was all getting too much. But now we are back and ready to get the ball rolling with icsi!

We were with repromed in Kilkenny for all our tests etc but we do not want to proceed with them for icsi. We are looking for another clinic. We are waiting for an appointment with sims in Dublin . Just wondering where you guys are attending xxxxx

I attended the Hari clinic. Loved how thorough they were. I was basically diagnosed on the day and after trying for 18 cycles, I now have a beautiful 7 month baby boy and it only took 3 months with them
Wishing you the best of luck, keep us posted xx

Hi Lorraine and josie x huge congrats on your bundles of joy! After numerous phone calls and chats we hubby we are going with cork fertility clinic who have a satellite clinic in Waterford (wearekilkenny based) we feel the less stress we have with travelling after work the better . Going to book an app tomorrow. We have had all our tests so it'll be straight into an icsi cycle! So excited that finally after two years something might happen for us xxxx

Hi Newleywed congrats on picking a clinic. I also attend CFC's clinic in Waterford and find them brilliant. It's handy having them so close and they are so friendly and reassuring. Best of luck with everything

Do you know if you are doing the long or short protocol? If it's the long one they will give you a pack of the pill to start on cd1 of your next cycle and will post out your (very lengthy) prescription. If it's the short one then I think you start injections on day 2 of the cycle. In fairness they are brilliant to explain and go through stuff so you should have no worries. It's really exciting when you get so close isn't it!

I didn't realise there was two types, omg I'm useless! How can you tell which one? I'm excited but I'm so scared, you know yourself but at least w finally have a little bit of hope. Just want to get it started now it's something we've known for a long time just couldn't face doing it now I'm ready. X

I know what you mean I was the exact same! Basically the clinic will asses you & decide but as far as I know the long protocol is generally used first ( I could be wrong but they started me on this one) the long protocol involves taking the pill for 3-4 weeks and then starting on injections after that. I was on Buserlin for about two weeks ( you will be scanned to check for progress) and the another injection was added in for approx 12-14 days then they will scan to see are you ready for egg collection. This will happen in cork, your oh will give his sample that day & then either 3,5 or 6 days later they will pop back in your fertilised "embabies" the it's just onto the joyful two week wait :-) come join us on the TTC next step thread there are a great bunch of girls over there

hey girls! hope u are all getting through ur cycles ok. Im starting my next cycle with CFC (waterford) at the end of this month. I had failed fertisiation with my first IVF and two failed IUIs.

I also went to Kilkenny for an hycosy. I had Dr. Ryan. She absolutely scared the bejesus out of me. Totally contradicted everything CFC had been saying. It was really an awful experience.
